Whistler

True, Whistler is best known as being one of North America’s best and most popular skiing destinations and there’s no doubt that this is a ski town, but this is also an excellent summertime destination and there’s lots here for the whole family to enjoy.

The skiing may be great in Whistler, but a mountain doesn’t have to be covered in snow to be appreciated! In fact there are probably more activities that can be enjoyed in Whistler during the summer than there are in the winter, and we can make all the arrangements for whatever your family wants to try. The fabulous scenery all around you only adds to the excitement of taking time out from your road trip!

Adventure of all kinds awaits you, whether it’s hiking on famous Blackcomb Mountain or a demanding glacier hike; perhaps the less strenuous Rainforest and Bear Habitat hike would be better if you have younger children, though four legs are better than two, and our Whistler Horseback Ride is fun the whole family.

Visitors seeking a little more excitement will find there are numerous adrenalin filled tours to enjoy in Whistler too. Head out on wheels with one of our ATV tours or even the Glacier Sunset Hummer Tour. Imagine a tour by zipline! The Whistler Ziptrek Tour uses a network of ziplines, trails, suspension bridges and boardwalks and is suitable for the whole family. The kids won’t forget this one in a hurry!

There are water-based activities to try out too, whether you prefer rafting or canoeing, or for mountain bike enthusiasts Whistler’s Mountain Bike Park has over 50 runs!

Who needs snow when you can do all this and more at Whistler in the summer?! Just tell us what activities appeal to you and your family the most and we’ll be pleased to make all the arrangements for you.

Quick Facts:
--- Originally called London Mountain the area was nicknamed Whistler because of the constant whistle of the mountain’s abundant mammal, the hoary marmot! After a while the name stuck!
--- Whistler is reached from Vancouver via the Sea to Sky Highway, one of the most scenic stretches of highway in the world.
