Mount Rainier National Park

Mount Rainier National Park may not have the coastal scenery or the abundance of temperate rainforests that the Olympic National Park has, but it does have some of the most spectacular and beautiful mountain scenery in the country!

Obviously the pearl of the national park is Mount Rainier itself, a huge dormant volcano that stands at over 14,000 feet. But this wonderful park holds more than just a giant mountain; visitors will be treated to over 26 glaciers, waterfalls, subalpine wildflower meadows, and old growth forest, all culminating to provide an unforgettable family vacation experience.

Paradise is probably the easiest and most popular access point to Mount Rainier National Park and is best known for its absolutely beautiful wildflower displays that nature puts on annually for visitors. A good many trails begin here, taking you onto those subalpine meadows, or up into the snowfields if you venture farther.

To really appreciate the beauty of this park it’s worth spending more than a day here. We’d be happy to get you set for going to some of the lesser visited portions of the park where you’ll find unmatched glacier views and even rainforests. Perhaps the most spectacular way to see this park is from the air though, and we can arrange this too – how does a flightseeing tour over Mount Rainier sound?!

Quick Facts:
--- Mount Rainier National Park is the United States’ fifth national park, established in 1899.
--- Mount Rainier is the highest point in the Cascade Mountain Range and was named in honor of Rear Admiral Peter Rainier, by British explorer Captain George Vancouver.
