Vancouver, BC

Surrounded by water and mountains Vancouver is one of the world’s most scenic cities, and one of the most popular, making this the perfect place to start or end a Canadian road trip! You’re going to see plenty of great scenery on your road trip but for a city, Vancouver has tons of scenery to admire too!

Vancouver actually has so many things to see and do that you could spend your entire family vacation here, and what’s so great about this city is the sheer variety in attractions that will appeal to the whole family.

If you’re here for only a few days there are some sights you won’t want to miss – Stanley Park is of course one of Vancouver’s top attractions. With its miles of hiking trails through the park’s forest interior, plus the famed Seawall to walk, cycle or skate around this is definitely a place that active people enjoy! The park has beaches with wonderful views of the city and the mountains, but don’t miss the Totem Poles or the Vancouver Aquarium while you’re here.

Stanley Park can be easily reached from downtown Vancouver so stay in the city center and make use of public transport. Parking across the whole of Vancouver can be hard to come by and expensive so it’s best to leave your vehicle behind. Take the short ferry ride over to Granville Island and the Market to pick up some goodies for a picnic, then walk to Kitsilano Beach, one of the city’s most popular.

From the other side of downtown the ferry runs across to the North Shore. Once there, catch a bus up to Grouse Mountain and take the Skyride up to the ‘Peak of Vancouver’. The views from the top over the city and surrounds are quite something, plus there are hikes, entertainment, and the grizzly bear refuge up here as well.

There’s so much to do but we’ll make sure you don’t miss a thing when your Canadian road trip is organized!
