Who We Are

Tracks & Trails Founders – Dan Wulfman & Sheri Ballard

In retrospect, it's no surprise that our lives together began on the road. One American, one Canadian, Sheri and I met on a bus in rural Spain during respective career escapes in 1989 and were married a year later. After working for big companies like IBM, McCann-Erickson, Deere & Co., Playtex, Mattel Toys and the American Red Cross, we eventually decided that two weeks' vacation just wasn't enough. We had an enormous yard sale, bought a nifty little travel trailer to go behind our SUV, and set off to explore our two countries together.

Our 6-month sabbatical morphed into a life-altering 2-year journey, taking us from the Arctic Circle to Guatemala and just about everywhere in between. We tried to reenter the fast lane for a while, but couldn't bear it. So, in 1998 we formed Tracks & Trails to help fellow travelers see the best of the west - in days or weeks, not years. Our sons, Chase-7 and Gabe-3, now do quality control to insure that every Tracks & Trails adventure delivers on our promise to create indelible family memories. Having tried everything from 5-star hotels to a blanket under the stars, our favorite way to travel these days is with an RV (Recreational Vehicle). It's a portable wilderness base camp for all sorts of fun family activities.

We look forward to sharing the magic that we've found out here and sending you home with wonderful memories. Delighted customers are what make this all worthwhile.
